I have been working with PCs since 1986, and been professionally employed with my primary job function(s) in the IT/computer field since 1996. With over 20 years of experience, I seen and done just about everything. For those few things I haven't seen or done, I have contacts who have.
I have managed networks of over 50 workstations, with multiple servers and operating systems. Experience in network design, hardware testing, bare metal builds, and malware cleaning are just a few of the things I can do for your business.
With my experience, in addition to direct computer services, I can also help your business make more intelligent IT purchasing decisions. That doesn't mean I will always recommend the cheapest product. As geek49203 said, "I still dream of Ultra computers at night, whose $25 motherboards helped me bill a record number of hours....". With hardware and support people, you get what you pay for.
However, with software, you don't always get what you pay for. Around 1998 I first started hearing about a non-Micrsoft operating system called Linux. I tried it and have been using it ever since. Since then I have branched out into other open source/free software and found it to be, in many cases, just as good or even better than commercial software at a much lower price and without all the licensing hassles.
If you are thinking about buying some expensive software package, talk to me first. Depending on your needs, I may be able to recommend something cheaper and better. This includes adding a new server, be it a file server, DNS server, web server (internal or external), print server, SQL server, etc. There are alternatives.
I currently live in southwest Houston, TX and regularly serve small businesses from Conroe to Missouri City.
